  • Target

    EYA3 (Eyes Absent Homolog 3 (EYA3))

    Alternative Name

    EYA3

    Background

Background: EYA3 (eyes absent homolog 3) functions as a tyrosine phosphatase that specifically dephosphorylates 'Tyr-142' of histone H2AX (H2AXY142ph). EYA3 promotes efficient DNA repair by dephosphorylating H2AX and promoting the recruitment of DNA repair complexes containing MDC1. EYA3 coactivates SIX1. Together with SIX1 and DACH2 EYA3 seems to be involved in myogenesis. EYA3 may be involved in development of the eye [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) Q99504].
