Background
- Background: CDK11 is a member of the p34Cdc2 protein kinase family and is involved in cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and tumorigenesis. Many isoforms of CDK11 have been isolated. The p58 isoform has been shown to interact with cyclin D3 and to play an important role in G2/M phase progression. The p110 isoforms have been demonstrated to interact with the RNA-binding proteins RNPS1, RNA polymerase II, and many elongation factors, indicating a role in RNA metabolism in proliferating cells.
