Background
- Background: In yeast, Rtf1 is a component of the Paf1/RNA polymerase II complex. The Paf1 complex interacts with RNA polymerase II and functions to modify chromatin during transcription. Rtf1 appears to be important for histone H2B ubiquitination by Rad6 and for methylation of histone H3 catalyzed by the Set1/COMPASS complex that functions during transcription elongation.
