    Purpose

    Lyophilized Mouse Monoclonal Antibody Beta-Dystroglycan

    Specificity

Human beta-dystroglycan (43 kD). Also crossreacts strongly with beta-dystroglycan in sections of mouse, rat, rabbit, dog and chicken, hamster and toad muscle. Other animal species not tested.

    Characteristics

This product is intended for the qualitative identification by light microscopy of Beta-Dystroglycan by immunohistochemistry.

    Purification

    Tissue culture supernatant

    Immunogen

Synthetic peptide containing 15 of the last 16 amino acids at the extreme C-terminus of the human beta-dystroglycan sequence (PKNMTPYRSPPPYVP-PCOOH).

    Isotype

    IgG2a
  • Application Notes

Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections. Suggested dilution: 1:50-1:200 for 60 minutes at 25°C. This is provided as a guide and users should determine their own optimal working dilutions.,Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining techniques allow for the visualization of antigens via the sequential application of a specific antibody to the antigen (primary antibody), a secondary antibody to the primary antibody and an enzyme complex with a chromogenic substrate with interposed washing steps. The enzymatic activation of the chromogen results in a visible reaction product at the antigen site. The specimen may then be counterstained and coverslipped. Results are interpreted using a light microscope.
