The clone 1C6, a mouse monoclonal antibody specifically binds to a human 40-41 kDa seven-transmembrane protein antigen known as CD183. It is also known as the CXCR3 chemokine receptor, a member of the G proteincoupled receptor family. CD183 is expressed by T cells, NK cells, dendritic cells, mast cells, alveolar macrophages, eosinophils, and airway epithelial cells. CD183 plays important role in the migration of lymphocytes into the inflamed tissues in various inflammatory diseases including chronically inflamed liver, Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, etc.
