    Alternative Name

    NPRL2

    Background

Synonyms: NPRL2, TUSC4, GATOR complex protein NPRL2, Gene 21 protein, G21 protein, Nitrogen permease regulator 2-like protein, NPR2-like protein, Tumor suppressor candidate 4

Background: Nitrogen permease regulator 2-like protein (NPRL2) also known as tumor suppressor candidate 4 (TUSC4) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NPRL2 gene. Enables GTPase activator activity. Involved in cellular response to amino acid starvation, negative regulation of TORC1 signaling, and negative regulation of kinase activity. Part of GATOR1 complex. Is active in lysosomal membrane. Implicated in familial focal epilepsy with variable foci 2.
