Coagulation Factor X (F10)
Background
Platelet factor X (PFX), also known as Stuart Prower Factor or as Thrombokinase, is an enzyme of the coagulation cascade. PFX is synthesized in the liver and requires vitamin K for its synthesis. PFX is activated into factor Xa by both factor IX and factor VII. PFX cleaves prothrombin to yield active thrombin.Synonyms: Stuart factor, Stuart-Prower factor
