    Background

Synonyms: NFKB p50 Peptide, NFKB1 Peptide, DNA binding factor KBF1, DNA-binding factor KBF1, NF-kappabeta, nuclear factor NF-kappa-B p105 subunit, nuclear factor NF-kappa-B p50 subunit, nuclear factor kappa-B DNA binding subunit, NF-kB, NF-KB, control peptide, blocking peptide

Background: NFKB (nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells) is a complex of protein subunits that ultimately control transcription of cellular response to stressful stimuli, such as: cytokine exposure, free radicals, UV and irradiation, bacterial and viral secretions, etc. NF-kB also assists in regulating the immune response to infection. When mis-regulated, NF-kB has been implicated in cancer, inflammation, autoimmune disorders, and insufficient clearing of viral infections.
