Characteristics: Protein G is widely used as an affinity-based ligand for the purification of IgG, it can bind to all IgG subfamily from human, mouse and rat. Streptococcal protein G also has been used extensively for the purification of antibodies using the interaction of the Fc region with protein G. Many antibodies interact with protein G through a low-affinity binding site for the Fab region.
