Background
- Vaspin (visceral adipose-specific SERPIN), a newly identified adipokine, which is a member of serine protease inhibitor family. Vaspin is also a unique insulin sensitizing adipocytokine in obesity. A recent publication indicates that induction of human vaspin mRNA expression in adipose tissue is regulated in a fat depot-specific manner and could be associated with parameters of obesity, insulin resistance, and glucose metabolism. Recombinant human Vaspin fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Synonyms: SERPINA12, serpin peptidase inhibitor clade A member 12, OL-64, Visceral adipose tissue-derived serine protease inhibitor, Serpin A12 precursor, OL64 OL 64, ENSG00000165953, Serine (or cysteine) proteinase inhibitor clade A (alpha 1 antiproteinase antitrypsin) member 12 antibody.
