- Background
- JAGGED1 (JAG1) is composed of a relatively small intracellular domain, a transmembrane domain and a larger extracellular component. JAG1 is widely expressed throughout mammalian development, across many tissues and developmental stages. The Notch signaling pathway and JAG1 in particular have been implicated in multiple forms of cancer and multiple aspects of cancer biology including tumor angiogenesis, neoplastic cell growth, cancer stem cell maintenance and the metastatic process.
- Molecular Weight
- 111.56 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 120-140 kDa based on Tris-Bis PAGE result.
- Pathways
- Notch Signaling, Stem Cell Maintenance
