    Characteristics
    Key Benefits:
    • Predefined custom protein - from design to production - by highly experienced protein experts.
    • Protein expressed in mammalian cells and purified in one-step affinity chromatography
    • The optimized expression system ensures reliability for intracellular, secreted and transmembrane proteins.
    • State-of-the-art algorithm used for plasmid design (Gene synthesis).
This protein is a predefined protein and will be made for the first time for your order. Our experts in the lab try to ensure that you receive soluble protein.

If you are not interested in a full length protein, please contact us for individual protein fragments.

The big advantage of ordering our predefined custom proteins in comparison to ordering custom-made proteins from other companies is that there is no financial obligation in case the protein cannot be expressed or purified.

  • Target
    PANX1 (Pannexin 1 (PANX1))
    Alternative Name
    Panx1 (PANX1 Products)
    Background
Pannexin-1 [Cleaved into: Caspase-activated pannexin-1 (Caspase-activated PANX1)],FUNCTION: Ion channel involved in a variety of physiological functions such as blood pressure regulation, apoptotic cell clearance and oogenesis (PubMed:30814251). Forms anion-selective channels with relatively low conductance and an order of permeabilities: nitrate>iodide>chlroride>>aspartate=glutamate=gluconate (PubMed:22311122). Can release ATP upon activation through phosphorylation or cleavage at C-terminus (PubMed:32238926). May play a role as a Ca(2+)-leak channel to regulate ER Ca(2+) homeostasis (By similarity). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q96RD7, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22311122, ECO:0000269|PubMed:30814251, ECO:0000269|PubMed:32238926}., FUNCTION: [Caspase-activated pannexin-1]: During apoptosis and after cleavage by caspases of the C-terminal tail, acts as a plasma membrane channel which mediates the regulated release of find-me signals, such as nucleotides ATP and UTP, and selective plasme membrane permeability. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:32238926}.
