  1. Data (including data from biophysical studies using Langmuir lipid monolayer technique) suggest that human/bovine ALB exhibits minimal electrostatic repulsion and inserts effectively into phospholipid monolayers. [REVIEW]

  2. A crystallographic structural study allows identification of serum albumin fragments responsible for immunogenicity and the postulation of a mechanism for antigen-antibody recognition in cattle.

  3. The dynamics of bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human fibrinogen (Fg) at low concentrations were observed at the solid-aqueous interface as a function of temperature.

  4. serum albumin possesses chaperone-like properties and that this activity is maintained under a number of physiologically relevant conditions.

  5. Interaction between 2',4-dihydroxychalcone and the N, f, e conformers of albumin was exothermic and spontaneous.

  6. The results indicated that the binding abilities of vitamin B12 (show TNFAIP1 ELISA Kits) to BSA in the acidic and basic pH regions (pH 2.5, 3.5, 5.0, and 9.0) were lower than that at simulating physiological condition (pH 7.4).

  7. new insights on bovine serum albumin self-assembly process

  8. Data indicate that CD spectroscopy of the HSA (show CD24 ELISA Kits) and BSA released in solution after desorption from the matrices shows that, while both proteins partially regain their helical structure, they show a distinct behaviour in their tertiary structure.

  9. Data show that the fluorescence quenching process may occur through energy transfer from singlet excited state of tryptophan in BSA to the corresponding level of ASP (show ASIP ELISA Kits).

  10. L-Arginine (show GATM ELISA Kits) does not prevent amyloid-like fibril formation by BSA.

Human Albumin (ALB) interaction partners

  1. The mean albumin level for patients who developed heparin-induced thrombocytopenia-thrombosis (HITT) was significantly lower than that for patients who developed heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT).

  2. Data suggest that posttranslational modifications of human serum albumin (HSA (show CD24 ELISA Kits)) typical of hyperhomocysteinemia (N and Shomocysteinylation) reduce binding affinity of catechins to HAS; the catechins used here were dietary flavonoids, epicatechin (EC), epigallocatechin (EGC), epicatechin gallate (ECG), and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG).

  3. The studies suggest that impaired endocytosis of megalin (show LRP2 ELISA Kits)/cubilin (show CUBN ELISA Kits) ligands, hemoglobin (show HBB ELISA Kits) and albumin, rather than heme toxicity, may be the cause of tubular proteinuria in sickle cell disease patients.

  4. Decreased serum albumin on admission is significantly associated with long-term all-cause mortality in hospital survivors of acute myocardial infarction.

  5. Intensity of systemic inflammation was assessed at all time points with C-reactive protein and albumin as prognostic covariates for overall survival in an extended Cox regression model.time-dependent effects are a prominent feature of intensity of systemic inflammation, a powerful prognostic biomarker for metastatic renal cell carcinoma.

  6. The presence of serum albumin in human eye tissues suggests its involvement in the metabolism, maintenance of tissue volume, and antioxidant reactions.

  7. study to dertermine ischemia modified albumin (IMA) level in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and IBD subgroups, and to examine its relation with disease activity index; IMA levels in IBD were higher in comparison with the control group; IMA in IBD might be related with the pathogenesis of disease and correlated with the severity of the disease

  8. Serum ischemia-modified albumin was higher in type 2 DM patients than in control subjects and was higher in diabetic patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy than in those without neuropathy.

  1. Urinary L-FABP (show FABP1 ELISA Kits), NGAL (show LCN2 ELISA Kits), Kim-1 (show HAVCR1 ELISA Kits) and albumin levels increased during the acute phase of kidney injury and were significantly correlated with the degree of tubulointerstitial fibrosis during the chronic phase. 3. We provide evidence of a transcytosis within the kidney tubular system that protects albumin and IgG from lysosomal degradation, allowing these proteins to be recycled intact.

  4. albumin may play a distinct role in adipocyte differentiation by promoting lipid accumulation.

  5. No binding of albumin was observed at physiological pH to neonatal Fc receptor (show FCGRT ELISA Kits). At acidic pH, a 100-fold difference in binding affinity was observed.

Albumin (ALB) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein which comprises about one-half of the blood serum protein. Albumin functions primarily as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones and plays a role in stabilizing extracellular fluid volume. Albumin is a globular unglycosylated serum protein of molecular weight 65,000. Albumin is synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin which has an N-terminal peptide that is removed before the nascent protein is released from the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The product, proalbumin, is in turn cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to produce the secreted albumin.
