Study examined the relationship of K27M mutations in the distinct histone H3 (show HIST3H3 Antibodies) variants (i.e. HIST1H3B (show HIST1H3D Antibodies) and H3F3A (show H3F3A Antibodies)) with specific pontine glioma biology
These data suggest that adult brainstem gliomas differ from adult supratentorial gliomas. In particular, histone genes (H3F3A (show H3F3A Antibodies) (K27M) mutations are frequent in adult brainstem gliomas.
MSK1- and MSK2-mediated H3K27me3S28 phosphorylation serves as a mechanism to activate a subset of PcG target genes determined by the biological stimuli and thereby modulate the gene expression program determining cell fate.
These findings suggested that at metaphase Thr (show TRH Antibodies) 3 phosphorylated histone H3 (show HIST3H3 Antibodies) may also participate in kinetochore assembly to promote faithful chromosome segregation and serve as another recognition code for kinetochore proteins.
a catalytic and inhibitory loop mechanism may better describe the cross-talk relationship between H2B ubiquitination and H3 Lys (show LYZ Antibodies)-79 methylation
Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. This structure consists of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a nucleosome, an octamer composed of pairs of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). The chromatin fiber is further compacted through the interaction of a linker histone, H1, with the DNA between the nucleosomes to form higher order chromatin structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H3 family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails\; instead, they contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6p22-p21.3.
