  1. A receptor type-protein tyrosine phosphatase alpha-Src (show SRC ELISA Kits) family kinase-Rap1 (show RABGEF1 ELISA Kits) pathway was identified as responsible for recruiting myosin IIB (show MYH10 ELISA Kits) to the zonula adherens in epithelial cells and supporting contractile tension.

  2. no evidence was seen for the association of rare, missense mutations in the PTPRA gene with schizophrenia or autism spectrum disorders

  3. Data indicate that scaffold protein (show HOMER1 ELISA Kits) RACK1 (show GNB2L1 ELISA Kits) plays a role in IGF-1 (show IGF1 ELISA Kits)-mediated protein-tyrosine phosphatase alpha (PTPalpha) tyrosine phosphorylation in MCF-7 Cells.

  4. recruited to epithelial adherens junctions for cadherin-dependent cell adhesion and tissue architecture formation

  5. Results suggest that inhibition of PTPalpha can have a beneficial effect on HER2 (show ERBB2 ELISA Kits)-positive breast cancers, but that inhibition of additional targets is needed to block breast tumorigenesis.

  6. new role for PTPalpha in the regulation of motility of mammary epithelial cells in response to ErbB2 (show ERBB2 ELISA Kits) activation.

  7. results suggest that PTPalpha links activation of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR (show EGFR ELISA Kits)) signaling with Src (show SRC ELISA Kits) activation and may provide a novel therapeutic target for treatment of breast cancer.

  8. A single-nucleotide polymorphism (rs6138953) on the PTPRA gene in the 20p13 region was found to be associated with elevated fasting glucose level.

  9. The extracellular proteolytic processing is a novel mechanism for PTPalpha regulation.

  1. RPTPalpha mediates proinflammatory and proinvasive signaling in rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS), correlating with the promotion of disease in an FLS-dependent model of rheumatoid arthritis.

  2. Ptpra coordinates the regulation of the Fyn (show FYN ELISA Kits) signaling pathway in corpus striatum.

  3. PTPs (show PTS ELISA Kits) alpha and epsilon play distinct roles in osteoclasts.

  4. PTP (show SLC25A3 ELISA Kits)-alpha promotes profibrotic signaling pathways in fibroblasts through control of cellular responsiveness to TGF-beta (show TGFB1 ELISA Kits).

  5. The focal adhesion targeting domain of FAK (show PTK2 ELISA Kits) interacts with protein-tyrosine phosphatase-alpha to restrict IL1 (show IL1A ELISA Kits)-induced Ca2 (show CA2 ELISA Kits)+ release, ERK (show EPHB2 ELISA Kits) activation, and MMP-9 (show MMP9 ELISA Kits) expression.

  6. PTPalpha may be involved in the formation of axoglial junctions and ensheathment in small axons during myelination of the spinal cord.

  7. Findings indicate Grb2 (show GRB2 ELISA Kits) as a new FAK (show PTK2 ELISA Kits) activator and in coordinating PTPalpha tyrosine phosphorylation to enable downstream integrin signaling and migration.

  8. Results suggest that inhibition of PTPalpha can have a beneficial effect on HER2 (show ERBB2 ELISA Kits)-positive breast cancers, but that inhibition of additional targets is needed to block breast tumorigenesis.

  9. Inflammation-induced connective tissue degradation involving fibroblasts requires functionally active PTPalpha.

  10. study described a molecular complex of PTPalpha-BCAR3 (show BCAR3 ELISA Kits)-Cas (show CTNND1 ELISA Kits)-Src (show SRC ELISA Kits); this complex forms in response to PTPalpha Tyr789 phosphorylation and mediates Cas (show CTNND1 ELISA Kits) localization to focal adhesions and Cas (show CTNND1 ELISA Kits) downstream signaling to promote cell migration

PTPRA Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP contains an extracellular domain, a single transmembrane segment and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains, and thus represents a receptor-type PTP. This PTP has been shown to dephosphorylate and activate Src family tyrosine kinases, and is implicated in the regulation of integrin signaling, cell adhesion and proliferation. Three alternatively spliced variants of this gene, which encode two distinct isoforms, have been reported.
