Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal of human NSF (Vesicle fusing ATPase) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The immunogen is homologous in mouse and rat.

Background Function: Required for vesicle-mediated transport. Catalyzes the fusion of transport vesicles within the Golgi cisternae. Is also required for transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi stack. Seem to function as a fusion protein required for the delivery of cargo proteins to all compartments of the Golgi stack independent of vesicle origin.
Catalytic activity: ATP + H2O = ADP + phosphate.
Cofactor: Binds 1 magnesium ion per subunit.
Subunit: Homohexamer. Interacts with GABARAP and GABARAPL2.
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm. Also known as: Vesicle fusing ATPase, N-ethylmaleimide sensitive fusion protein, NEM sensitive fusion protein, Vesicular fusion protein NSF.

Application Notes IHC, WB. A concentration of 10-50 µg/ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
