Description
The CA 19-9 antigen is a monosialosyl Le (a) blood group antigen which has been shown tobe a useful-associated antigen for the diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancers. This antigen isknown to be a ligand for the cell adhesion molecule called ELAM-1 (E-selectin, endothelialcell leukocyte adhesion molecule-1, which is present on cytokine-activated humanendothelial cells. Selectin GMP-140 (CD62,PADGEM) binds to sialosyl Le (a) and sulfatedglycans modulate this binding.
Specificity
This antibody reacts with CA 19-9 antigen. Does not cross react with CA125, CA15-3, CEA. Cellular localization: Cytoplasmic. Species: Human. Others not tested.
Application Notes
Suitable for Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry (Frozen or Formalin-FixedParaffin-Embedded (FFPE) tissue sections and cell smears). For IHC dilute concentared antibody at 1/50-1/100, use streptavidin~biotin system orpolymer system, incubate 30 minutes at room temperature. FFPE tissue section requires antigen retriever (boiling tissue in 10 mM citrate, pH 6.0 for 20mins, followed by cooling at RT for 20 mins). Recommended Positive Control: Human colon, stomach, pancreas, intestine, breastcarcinomas. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
