Specificity
- This antibody is expected to recognise isoforms 2 (NP_001440.1) and 5 (NP_001153171.1). Since June 2009 the second N residue in the immunizing peptide is no longer representative as it has been substituted by Q at position 284 of NP_001440.2. Variants NP_001440.2, NP_001153176.1 and NP_001153172.1 represent identical protein.

Purification
- Ammonium Sulphate Precipitation followed by antigen Affinity Chromatography using the immunizing peptide.
-
Immunogen
- Peptide with sequence CNKRFVFHNEQVY, from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_001440.1, NP_001153171.1. Genename: FHL1

Background
- FHL1 (SLIM1) is a LIM domain protein transcript that is preferentially expressed in postnatal skeletal muscle but little is known about its function in this tissue. LIM proteins, (named for 'LIN11, ISL1 and MEC3') are defined by the possession of a highly conserved double zinc finger motif called the LIM domain. FHL1 may have an involvement in muscle development or hypertrophy. Isoform 2 binds to RBP J and plays a negative regulatory role in the RBP J mediated transcription in mammalian systems.Synonyms: FHL-1, FHL1, Four and a half LIM domains protein 1, SLIM, SLIM-1, SLIM1, Skeletal Muscle LIM-protein 1
