Loss of akap12 function causes severe defects in locomotor activity in zebrafish embryos.
Zebrafish embryos depleted of akap12 (akap12 morphants) exhibited severe hemorrhages.
Gravin is required for the conversion of mesodermal cells from a highly migratory behavior to the medio-laterally intercalative behavior required for body axis extension.
These results provide an important step forward in understanding the mechanism of Gravin function in cell shape regulation and provide valuable insight into how Gravin acts as a cytoskeletal regulator.
The enrichment of activated Cdc42 (show CDC42 ELISA Kits) in SSeCKS-null leading edge filopodia correlated with recruitment of the Cdc42 (show CDC42 ELISA Kits)-specific guanine nucleotide exchange factor (show ARHGEF12 ELISA Kits), Frabin (show FGD4 ELISA Kits).
AKAP12 scaffolding protein mediates meningeal reconstruction after central nervous system injury
Results suggest that AKAP12-positive cells in the fibrotic scar may restrict excessive inflammation, demonstrating mechanisms that could underlie the beneficial actions of the fibrotic scar in the new tissue formation stage during the CNS repair process.
We conclude that gravin compartmentalizes a significant pool of PKA that regulates learning-induced beta2-adrenergic receptor (show ADRB2 ELISA Kits) signaling and ERK (show EPHB2 ELISA Kits) activation in the hippocampus
Our study implicates a role for SSeCKS in preventing of skin cancer progression possibly through negatively regulating FAK (show PTK2 ELISA Kits) expression.
controls the localization and activity of cyclin D1 (show CCND1 ELISA Kits) in parietal epithelial cells and influences proliferative injury in the glomerulus
PKC-mediated remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton is likely regulated by the ability of SSeCKS to control PKC signaling and activity through a direct scaffolding function
Akap12 controls Rb-mediated cell aging and oncogenic progression by directly scaffolding and attenuating PKCalpha (show PKCa ELISA Kits)/delta.
SERPINB5 (show SERPINB5 ELISA Kits) and AKAP12 may have a role in increased metastasis in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
SSeCKS has a restricted distribution within the nervous system and that expression of this protein may reflect the specific signaling requirements of a distinct population of nociceptive sensory neurons.
There is a positive association between the expression of AKAP12 and Semaphorin 3F (show SEMA3F ELISA Kits) in prostate cancer, suggesting that the activation of Semaphorin 3F (show SEMA3F ELISA Kits) by AKAP12 may be involved in prostate cancer progression and metastasis.
A critical role for AKAP12 as an UV-inducible scaffold for PKA-mediated ATR phosphorylation.
the AKAP12a promoter shows high DNA methylation (show HELLS ELISA Kits) levels in juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia, which go along with reduced AKAP12a mRNA expression levels
MiR (show MLXIP ELISA Kits)-103 regulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth by targeting AKAP12
results suggest that the association between the 6q25.1 locus and breast cancer risk may be mediated through single nucleotide polymorphisms that regulate expressions of the AKAP12 gene.
The authors propose that Gravin-mediated recruitment of Aurora A (show AURKA ELISA Kits) and Plk1 (show PLK1 ELISA Kits) to the mother (oldest) spindle pole contributes to the fidelity of symmetric cell division.
The SSeCKS, a major Lipopolysaccharide (LPS (show IRF6 ELISA Kits)) response protein, has been involved in regulating astrocyte activation via production of proinflammatory factor in CNS inflammation.
Elevated expression of AKAP12 is characteristic of paclitaxel-resistant high-grade serous ovarian cancer cells, and a prognostic and predictive marker for poor overall survival in SOC (show UBXN11 ELISA Kits) patients.
Cigarette smoke-induced changes in AKAP5 (show AKAP5 ELISA Kits) and AKAP12 in patients with COPD (show ARCN1 ELISA Kits) may affect efficacy of pharmacotherapy.
The enrichment of activated Cdc42 (show CDC42 ELISA Kits) in SSeCKS-null leading edge filopodia correlated with recruitment of the Cdc42 (show CDC42 ELISA Kits)-specific guanine nucleotide exchange factor (show RASGRF1 ELISA Kits), Frabin (show FGD4 ELISA Kits).
The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins, which have the common function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell. This gene encodes a member of the AKAP family. The encoded protein is expressed in endothelial cells, cultured fibroblasts, and osteosarcoma cells. It associates with protein kinases A and C and phosphatase, and serves as a scaffold protein in signal transduction. This protein and RII PKA colocalize at the cell periphery. This protein is a cell growth-related protein. Antibodies to this protein can be produced by patients with myasthenia gravis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
