C5-epimerase and 2-O-sulfotransferase in association generate extended domains of consecutive GlcNS-IdoA2S Sequence.
analysis of differences and similarities various residues play in the biological roles of the HS-2OST and CS-2OST enzymes
Inactivation of uronyl 2-O-sulfotransferase in endothelial cells (Hs2st), an enzyme that acts downstream from Ndst1 (show NDST1 Proteins), results in enhanced neutrophil recruitment in several models of acute inflammation.
The phenotype of Hs2st(-/-) mutant kidneys suggests that signalling between two tissues, ureteric bud and metanephric mesenchyme, is disrupted.
mice homozygous for a null mutation in Hs2st indicated reduction in the thickness of the embryonic cerebral cortex; critical role for 2-O-sulphation of heparan sulphate proteoglycan (show GPC3 Proteins) in regulating cell proliferation during cerebral cortex development
Hs2st and/or Hs6st1 expression coincides with Slit expression domains at locations where retinal ganglion cell(RGC) axons make navigation errors in Hs2st-/- and Hs6st1-/- mutants, and Hs6st1-/-RGC axons are less sensitive to Slit2 repulsion.
Prmt7 regulates epiboly by facilitating 2-OST and modulating actin cytoskeleton
2-OST functions within the Wnt (show WNT2 Proteins) pathway, downstream of Wnt (show WNT2 Proteins) ligand signaling and upstream of Gsk3beta and beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Proteins) intracellular localization and function
2-O-sulfotransferase (2-OST) catalyzes the transfer of sulfate groups to the 2-O position of uronic acid residues of heparan sulfate.
Heparan sulfate biosynthetic enzymes are key components in generating a myriad of distinct heparan sulfate fine structures that carry out multiple biologic activities. This gene encodes a member of the heparan sulfate biosynthetic enzyme family that transfers sulfate to the 2 position of the iduronic acid residue of heparan sulfate. The disruption of this gene resulted in no kidney formation in knockout embryonic mice, indicating that the absence of this enzyme may interfere with the signaling required for kidney formation. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been found for this gene.
