    Background
CYGB is a globin molecule located in the brain and most notably utilized in marine mammals. It is thought to be a method of protection under conditions of hypoxia. The predicted function of cytoglobin is the modulation of oxygen and nitric oxide metabolism or scavenging free radicals within a cell. Recombinant human CYGB, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. Synonyms: HGB, STAP, Cytoglobin, CYGB, Histoglobin, Stellate cell activation associated protein. NCBI no.: AAH29798
    Molecular Weight
    23.5 kDa(210aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF
