Clone

1-13M1
  • Cross-Reactivity (Details)

    Species reactivity (tested):Human.

    Purification

    Purified

    Immunogen

A BALB/c mouse was immunized with Mucin isolated from an ovarian cyst fluid (pure endocervical type according to the Fenoglio's classisfication). Splenocytes were fused with mouse myeloma SP2/0 cells.

    Isotype

    IgG1
  • Application Notes

Immunohistochemistry on cultured cells. Immunochemistry on Frozen Ethanol Fixed Sections. Immunochemistry on Paraffin Sections: a protease pretreatment is recommended. This antibody clone 1-13M1 cross reacts with Mucin of different animal species after period date pretreatment. Immunoblotting: Strongly positive without mercaptoethanol pretreatment of mucin solution. ELISA or IRMA in combination with the clone 9-13M1 or the mixture of anti-M1 Monoclonal antibodies.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

  • Target

    MUC5AC (Mucin 5AC, Oligomeric Mucus/gel-Forming (MUC5AC))

    Alternative Name

    Mucin-5AC

    Background

Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins that are found especially in the secretions of mucus membranes. Gastric Mucin 5AC antigen is found in columnar mucus cells of surface gastric epithelium and in goblet cells of the fetal and precancerous colon but not in normal colon. Resurgence of gastric mucin during colonic carcinogenesis is suggestive of either re-expression of the peptide core of gastric mucin in the adult colon or due to changes in the glycosylation pattern of mucin, which expose the hidden Mucin 5AC antigen.Synonyms: Gastric mucin, LeB, Lewis B blood group antigen, MUC5, MUC5AC, Major airway glycoprotein, Mucin-5 subtype AC, TBM, Tracheobronchial mucin, tracheobronchial
