Background
Calgizzarin (or S100A11, S100C) is a calcium-binding polypeptide with cytokine properties. It is a member of the S-100 protein family which contains two EF-hand calcium-binding domains. It has been described as also existing in a homodimer-form linked by a disulfide bridge.Synonyms: MLN70, Metastatic lymph node gene 70 protein, S100 calcium-binding protein A11, S100-A11, S100-C, S100C
