This antibody reacts to ventricular myosin light chain.
Purification
Immunoaffinity chromatography
Immunogen
Recombinant human myosin (cardiac) light chain fragment. Remarks: The antibody was raised in rabbits by immunization with the recombinant Human Myosin (Cardiac) Light Chain fragment. The amino acid sequence of the recombinant Human Myosin (Cardiac) Light Chain fragment is 100% homologous to the amino acid sequence of the human serum Myosin (Cardiac) Light Chain fragment.

Background
Human ventricular myosin light chain (MLC-I, Essential Myosin Light Chain Isoform) is a 21 kDa cardiac contractile protein, which is one of component of myosin structure. The protein MLC-I is present in the contractile apparatus and not in cytosol. In severe congestive heart failure (CHF), myofibrils may degenerate and, subsequently, the myofibrillar components may be released into the circulation. The increased blood levels of MLC-I could indicate morphological changes in CHF, myocardial infarction, structural abnormalities in viable myocytes also observed in non-ischaemic CHF, myocardial necrosis.Synonyms: CMLC1, Cardiac myosin light chain 1, MLC1SB, Myosin light chain 1, Myosin light chain 3, Ventricular/slow twitch myosin alkali light chain, slow-twitch muscle B/ventricular isoform
