  • Application Notes

NeutralizationTo yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of Rat MIP-1 alpha (100 ng/mL), a concentration of 8.0-10.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. ElisaIndirect: To detect Rat MIP-1 alpha by indirect ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) aconcentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purifiedantibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of atleast 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat MIP-1 alpha. Sandwich: To detect Rat MIP-1alpha by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibodysolution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinitypurified antibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Rat MIP-1 alpha (PP038B1 orPP038B2) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well ofrecombinant Rat MIP-1alpha. Western BlotTo detect Rat MIP-1alpha by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a

    Alternative Name

    MIP1 alpha / CCL3

    Background

Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 1 alpha (MIP1 alpha) and MIP1 beta, two closely related but distinct proteins, were originally co-purified from medium conditioned by a LPS-stimulated murine macrophage cell line. Mature mouse MIP1 alpha shares approximately 77 % and 70 % amino acid identity with human MIP1 alpha and mouse MIP1 beta, respectively. MIP1 proteins are expressed primarily in T cells, B cells, and monocytes after antigen or mitogen stimulation. Has adhesive effects on lymphocytes. MIP1 alpha can inhibit the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells in vitro as well as in vivo. A signal transducing receptor, designated the C-C chemokine receptor-1 (C-C CKR-1) with seven transmembrane domains that bind MIP1 alpha, MIP1 beta, MCP1 and RANTES with varying affinities, has been isolated.Synonyms: C-C motif chemokine 3, CCL-3, G0/G1 switch regulatory protein 19-1, G0S19-1 protein, LD78 alpha, MIP-1-alpha, MIP1A, Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 1 alpha, SCYA3, Small-inducible cytokine A3, Tonsillar lymphocyte LD78 alpha protein
