Product Details anti-ITGA2 Antibody

Specificity: This antibody recognises the integrin alpha 2 subunit, which is 160 kDa cell surface antigen expressed by NK cells and a small subset of T-cells. This antibody inhibits cell attachment to collagen.

Purification: Affinity Chromatography on Protein G.

Immunogen: Spleen cells from immunised mice were fused with cells of the mouse NS1 myeloma cell line.

Application Details

Application Notes: Flow Cytometry: 1/50-1/100, use 10 μL of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells in 100 μL. Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections: 1/500-1/1000. Recommended positive control tissue: Tonsil.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Background: Integrins are heterodimeric cell surface receptors composed of alpha and beta subunits, which mediate cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix attachments. They are responsible for adhesion of platelets and other cells to collagens, modulation of collagen and collagenase gene expression, force generation and organization of newly synthesized extracellular matrix. Aberrant integrin expression has been found in many epithelial tumours.
