Specificity
- This antibody recognises the HLA-A2 histocompatability antigen. The epitope recognised by this antibody has been studied extensively and would appear to include the carboxy-terminus of the alpha-2 helix and a turn on one of the underlying beta strands. This antibody may be used for the Flow Cytometric detection of HLA-A2 expression and has also been used for immunoaffinity purification of HLA-A2 Molecules.

Background
- Human leukocyte antigens are highly polymorphic proteins that are involved in the presentation of antigens to the T cell receptor. There are two classes of HLA antigens, class I (HLA A, HLA B and HLA C) and class II (HLA D).Synonyms: A-2 alpha chain, HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, HLAA2, MHC class I antigen A-2
