Western Blotting (WB), Flow Cytometry (FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Specificity
This antibody recognises leukocyte-associated Ig-like receptor-1 (LAIR-1). Clone NKTA255 is reported to inhibit NK cell triggering via CD16 Molecules (See Poggi, A. et al.for details). We recommend the use of Azide Free Antibody Cat.-No SM2048A for this purpose. see Poggi, A. et al. for details.
Purification
Affinity Chromatography on Protein G
Immunogen
NK cells lines B12.100 and AM.25. Spleen cells from immunised mice were fused with cells of the P3U1 myeloma cell line.
Flow Cytometry: 1/50 - 1/100, Use 10 μL of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells in 100 μL. Immunoprecipitation. Western Blot: this antibody detects a band of approximately 40 kDa. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

LAIR-1 is a 40kD cell surface molecule that functions as an inhibitory receptor on natural killer cells, monocytes and T cells. LAIR-1, otherwise known as CD305, is also expressed by other haematopoeitic cells including B cells, but is not expressed by nonhaematopoietic, platelets or erythrocytes.Synonyms: LAIR-1, Leukocyte-associated immunoglobulin-like receptor 1, hLAIR1
