The Mouse Monoclonal anti-LRP1 antibody has been validated for WB, FACS, IF and IHC (fro). It is suitable to detect LRP1 in samples from Human, Mouse, Rat, Rabbit and Hamster.
This monoclonal antibody 5A6 specifically reacts with the 85 kDa beta-chain of LRP/alpha2MR which is expressed in a restricted spectrum of cell types (for a recent review cf. Herz & Strickland). A strong immunohistochemical reaction is seen in hepatocytes, tissue macrophages, subsets of neurones and astrocytes in the central nervous system, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and monocyte-derived foam cells in atherosclerotic lesions in the arterial wall. The antibody can also be used for the characterization of a subset of myelomonocytic subtypes of chronic and acute leukemia (CD 91). Cross-reacts with rabbit LDL receptor-related protein (LRP) or mouse LRP.
