Specificity
- This antibody reacts positively with all stratified squamous epithelia and epidermal appendages such as hairfollicles, sebaceous glands. Also positive on epithelia of the urinary tract, stomach, intestine, uterine endometrium and prostate. Identifies mesotheliomas, squamous cell carcinomas, adenocarcinomas, transitional cell carcinomas and anaplastic carcinomas.

Application Notes

Immunohistochemistry on Frozen and Paraffin-Embedded Tissue (With Paraffin Sectionsproteolytic treatment with Trypsin is recommended). Working Dilution: 1/50 (optimize by serial dilution). Dilution Buffer: Dilute immediately before use with PBS or TBS. Incubation time: 1 h at room temperature. Recommended Positive Control: Squamous cell carcinoma, skin, cervix.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. -

Background
- Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filaments and characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity. Cytokeratins are represented in epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides, molecular weight between 40 kDa and 68 kDa.
