  • Target

    MAPK14 (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase 14 (MAPK14))

    Alternative Name

    MAP Kinase p38 alpha / MAPK14

    Background

Mxi2 is a splice variant of SAPK2α (p38). Stress-activated protein kinases (SAPK) are strongly activated in response to adverse stimuli such as heat and osmotic shock, UV light and other DNA-damaging reagents, and inhibitors of protein synthesis. They are also activated strongly in response to agonists that are released or produced under conditions of stress, such as proinflammatory cytokines.Synonyms: CSBP, CSBP1, CSBP2, CSPB1, Cytokine suppressive anti-inflammatory drug-binding protein, MAX-interacting protein 2, MXI2, Mitogen-activated protein kinase 14, SAPK2A, p38 alpha
