    Background

Background: Keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into epithelial keratins and hair keratins. There are two types of keratins (cytoskeletal and microfibrillar) and are clustered in a region of chromosome. Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filaments of epithelial cells, both in keratinizing tissue (i.e. skin) and non-keratinizing cells (i.e. mesothelial). Anti-Keratin Antibody is useful for researchers interested in cytoskeletal signaling and developmental biology research.
