    AA 1-503, N-Term

    Specificity

Highly specific for HSF1. Detects an ~85 kDa protein in unstressed cell lysates, and an ~95 kDa protein in heat shocked cell lysates, corresponding to the molecular mass of inactive and active forms of HSF1 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots.

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

Species reactivity (expected):Human, Rat, Bovine, Guinea Pig, Hamster, Monkey, RabbitSpecies reactivity (tested):Mouse

    Characteristics

Synonyms: HSTF1, HSF-1, Heat shock transcription factor 1

    Purification

Immunoglobulin fraction purified by ammonium sulphate precipitation

    Immunogen

    Recombinant mouse HSF1 protein (aa1-503).

    Isotype

    IgG1
  • Application Notes

Immunofluorescence. Immunoprecipitation (Native only): use Protein G and Ab at 2g/mgprotein lysate). Western Blotting: Ab 1-2g/mL for 2hrs at RT. Recommended positivecontrol: LS174T or MAD109 Cells.

  • Target

    HSF1 (Heat Shock Factor Protein 1 (HSF1))

    Alternative Name

    Heat Shock Factor 1 / HSF1

    Background

HSF1 responds to cellular stress signals such as heat, heavy metals, and oxidative reagents, binds to heat shock response elements (HSEs) in the upstream region of heat shock gene and activates their transcription. Some laboratories have reported that the constitutive, non-DNA binding, monomeric form of inactive HSF1 is located in the cytoplasm. Upon activation, HSF1 is trimerized and is localized in nucleus where it binds DNA.Synonyms: HSF-1, HSTF1, Heat shock transcription factor 1
