    This antibody detects Artemin.

    Purification

    Immunoaffinity Chromatography

    Immunogen

Highly pure (> 98%) derived recombinant Human Artemin
  • Application Notes

ELISA: Indirect: To detect hArtemin (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. In conjunction with compatible secondaryreagents, it allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hArtemin. Sandwich: To detect hArtemin (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. In conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-HumanArtemin as a detection antibody, it allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well ofrecombinant hArtemin. Western blot: To detect hArtemin this antibody can be used at a concentration of0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detectionlimit for recombinant hArtemin is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducingconditions.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

  • Target

    ARTN (Artemin (ARTN))

    Alternative Name

    Artemin

    Background

Artemin is a member of the glial cell line-derived neurotophic factor (GDNF) family of ligands, a group of ligands within the TGF-beta superfamily of signalling molecules. GDNFs are unique in having neurotrophic properties and have potential use for gene therapy in neurodegenrative disease. Artemin has been shown in culture to support the survival of a number of peripheral neuron populations and at least one population of dopaminergic CNS neurons. Its role in the PNS and CNS is further substantiated by its expression pattern in the proximity of these neurons. This protein is a ligand for the RET receptor and uses GFR-alpha 3 as a coreceptor. Four alternatively spliced transcripts have been described, two of which encode the same protein.Synonyms: ARTN, EVN, Enovin, Neublastin
