- Background
- The CB15 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to human CD16, a low affinity Fc receptor. It is expressed on NK, neutrophils, macrophages, monocytes, and placental trophoblasts. CD16 is expressed in CD16a and CD16b forms. CD16a is a polyeptide anchored transmembrane protein and CD16b is a monomeric glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein found in neutrophils. CD16 is reported to be involved in NK cell activation and signal transduction.
