-
Specificity
- Antigen 85B in sera or plasma and in cell culture supernatant
-
Characteristics
- Antigen 85B is the most abundant protein exposed by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is a potent immunoprotective antigen and a leading drug target. It is a mycolyl transferase in the myc pathway and catalyses - like Ag85A and Ag85C- the transfer of the fatty acid mycolate from one trehalose monomycolate to another, resulting in trehalose dimycolate and free trehalose and helping to build the cell wall.
-
Purification
- Polyclonal immunoglobulins purified by protein A affinity chromatography.
-
Immunogen
- Purified recombinant protein Ag 85B expressed in E. Coli.
