Characteristics

Reacts with a 43 kDa glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored single chain glycoprotein. CD48 is strongly expressed on lymphocytes and weakly on granulocytes. The expression of CD48 is upregulated following Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection. It has been suggested that CD48 is a low affinity receptor for CD2. This antibody is routinely tested by flow cytometric analysis. Other applications were tested during antibody development only or reported in the literature. Profile of peripheral blood lymphocytes analyzed by flow cytometry. Second step staining with Cat. No. 555988.
