    Product Specific Information

What can the CD44 antibody ABIN2855292 be used for? This polyclonal, unconjugated rabbit anti-CD44 antibody is excellent for detection of the surface protein CD44 in western blot, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry. It has the reactivities mouse, rabbit, human. Recombinant protein comprising a sequence within the central region of the human CD44 molecule was used as the immunogen.

What validation data is available for this CD44 antibody? The CD44 antibody has been referenced in 3 publications to date, which are given below and can be viewed at Pubmed. There are 8 images of the rabbit anti-CD44 antibody showing its performance in Western blot, IHC and ICC / IF. Use our CD44 antibody for reliable detection of CD44.

What is the function of CD44? CD44 is a cell-surface receptor that plays a role in cell-cell interactions, cell adhesion and migration, helping them to sense and respond to changes in the tissue microenvironment. CD44 molecule participates thereby in a wide variety of cellular functions including the activation, recirculation and homing of T-lymphocytes, hematopoiesis, inflammation and response to bacterial infection. CD44

    Alternative Name

    CD44 molecule (Indian blood group)

    Background

The protein encoded by this gene is a cell-surface glycoprotein involved in cell-cell interactions, cell adhesion and migration. It is a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and can also interact with other ligands, such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). This protein participates in a wide variety of cellular functions including lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, hematopoiesis, and tumor metastasis. Transcripts for this gene undergo complex alternative splicing that results in many functionally distinct isoforms, however, the full length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. Alternative splicing is the basis for the structural and functional diversity of this protein, and may be related to tumor metastasis.
