  • Cross-Reactivity (Details)

This human D3R peptide showed no significant sequence homology with other dopamine receptors (D1, D2, D4 or D5). It is 94 % conserved in monkey, 72 % with mouse and 68 % with rat D3R receptors.

  • Target

    DRD3 (Dopamine Receptor D3 (DRD3))

    Alternative Name

    Dopamine D3 Receptor

    Background

Dopamine is an endogenous catecholamine that influences many cellular activities, including behavior, hormone synthesis and release, blood pressure and intracellular ion transport. A family of at least 5 Dopamine Receptors (DR) genes, D1-D5, have been identified based upon the amino acid identity, pharmacological specificity and effector responses. D3 is encoded by the Dopamine receptor D3 gene (DRD3). Maximum expression of dopamine D3 receptors is noted in the islands of Calleja and nucleus accumbens.

    Pathways

Regulation of Systemic Arterial Blood Pressure by Hormones, cAMP Metabolic Process, Regulation of G-Protein Coupled Receptor Protein Signaling, Proton Transport, Negative Regulation of Transporter Activity
