Western Blotting (WB), Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p)), Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections) (IHC (fro))

Clone

JC12
  • Specificity

This antibody recognises FOXP1. The antibody produced by clone JC12 does not recognise closely related molecules FOXP2, FOXP3 or FOXP4. Cross reacts with Mouse.

    Characteristics

Synonyms: Forkhead box protein P1, HSPC215

    Purification

Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G from tissue culture supernatant

    Isotype

    IgG2a
  • Application Notes

Western Blot: Detects a band of approximately 85 kDa in Tonsil extracts. Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 1/200-1/500. This product requires antigenretrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections, 1 mM EDTA pH 8.0 isrecommended for this purpose. Histology Positive Control Tissue: Human tonsil.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

  • Target

    FOXP1 (Forkhead Box P1 (FOXP1))

    Alternative Name

    FOXP1

    Background

FOXP1 is an 85kD member of the winged helix/forkhead transcription factor family. The FOXP1 transcription factor is widely expressed in human tissues and is predominantly localised to the nucleus. However, the level of expression does vary between cells and between different tissues. The expression of FOXP1 is reported to be abnormal in a range of solid tumours. Studies suggest that FOXP1 functions as a transcriptional repressor.Synonyms: Forkhead box protein P1, HSPC215
