Flow Cytometry (FACS), Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p)), Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections) (IHC (fro))

Clone

F10-44-2
  • Specificity

This antibody recognises the human CD44 cell surface antigen and is routinely tested in flow cytometry on human peripheral blood lymphocytes.

    Purification

    Affinity Chromatography on Protein G.

    Immunogen

Human T lymphocytes. Spleen cells of immunised BALB/c mice were fused with cells from the mouse NS1 myeloma line.

    Isotype

    IgG2a
  • Application Notes

Suitable for Flow cytometry (Use 10 μL of neat antibody to label 10^6 cells in 100 μL). Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections (1/50-1/100) and Frozen sections. Positive Control: human tonsil.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background

The human CD44 cell surface antigen is a 100 kD glycoprotein widely expressed on human leucocytes, white matter of the brain and by some epithelial cells of the intestine and of the breast. CD44 expression may be up-regulated upon some carcinomas, and it has been speculated that this may be related to metastatic potential.Synonyms: CDw44, ECMR-III, Epican, Extracellular matrix receptor III, GP90 lymphocyte homing/adhesion receptor, HUTCH-I, Heparan sulfate proteoglycan, Hermes antigen, Hyaluronate receptor, LHR, MDU2, MDU3, MIC4, PGP-1, Phagocytic glycoprotein 1
