Specificity
- Detects a 60 kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of TCP-1 alpha on SDS-PAGE immunoblots, in samples from mouse, rat, bovine, sheep, dog, rabbit and hamster origins. This antibody recognizes the C-terminus of mouse TCP-1 (LDDCOOH) but not TCP-1 of primates (LNDCOOH). The COOH group is probably recognized since addition of an alanine (LDDACOOH) prevents binding in ELISA assays to immobilized synthetic peptide sequences. This antibody recognizes other proteins, most notably the p102B' COP subunit of Golgi coatomer. CTA-123 binds protein A and is useful for native precipitations of coatomer and CTT. This antibody does not react with human Hsp60 protein. This antibody also detects a molecular mass band of approximately 92 kD on immunoblots.
