Specificity
- Recognizes Streptococcus Group A. No immunological cross-reactivity with other Streptococcus Groups. There is potential non-specific cross-reactivity with other organisms such as Streptococcus Group C and Staphylococcus due to the presence of Protein A like proteins (Staphylococcus) and Protein C (Streptococcus C) present on the intact surface of these bacteria. These proteins bind any immunoglobulin.
