                                            Immunogen
- A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal region of human Synaptotagmin-2 (Synaptotagmin II SytII SYT2) conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat and mouse.

                                            Storage Comment
- Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8C for a shorter term. When reconstituting glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

                                            Background
- Synaptotagmins like SYT2 are integral membrane proteins of synaptic vesicles thought to serve as Ca(2+) sensors in the process of vesicular trafficking and exocytosis. FUNCTION: May have a regulatory role in the membrane interactions during trafficking of synaptic vesicles at the active zone of the synapse. It binds acidic phospholipids with a specificity that requires the presence of both an acidic head group and a diacyl backbone. SUBUNIT: Homotetramer. Interacts with stonin 2. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasmic vesicle secretory vesicle synaptic vesicle. Cytoplasmic vesicle secretory vesicle chromaffin granule. Note: Synaptic vesicles and chromaffin granules.
