Specificity
- Reacts with active form of caspase 3 (17 kD protein). Caspase 3 is a member of the interleukin-1 beta-converting enzyme family. Caspase 3 is though to be associated with induction of apoptosis. Caspase 3 is synthesized as inactive 32 kD proenzyme and is processed during apoptosis generating two subunits of 17 kD and 12 kD. Caspase 3 stains the epithelial cells of skin, renal proximal tubules and collecting ducts. This antibody cross reacts with mouse, rat, monkey, rabbit, hamster, cow, sheep, pig and dog.
