  • Application Notes

Application Note: Anti-Aldehyde Dehydrogenase Peroxidase Conjugated Antibody has been tested by ELISA and western blot and is assayed against 1.0 μg of Aldehyde Dehydrogenase [Yeast] in a standard capture ELISA using ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) code # ABTS-100 as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature.  A working dilution of 1:10,000 to 1:50,000 of the reconstitution concentration is suggested for this product.

    Western Blot Dilution: 1:500 - 1:5,000

    Immunoprecipitation Dilution: 1:100

    ELISA Dilution: 1:5,000 - 1:20,000

    Background

Background: Aldehyde dehydrogenase are a group of enzymes that catalyze the oxidation (dehydrogenation) of aldehydes. Aldehyde dehydrogenase is a polymorphic enzyme responsible for the oxidation of aldehydes to carboxylic acids, which leave the liver and are metabolized by the body's muscle and heart. ALDH2 also plays a crucial role in maintaining low blood levels of acetaldehyde during alcohol oxidation.
