Application Notes
- The antibody binds specifically to the recombinant and native variable domain of the α chain which comprises the T-cell receptor (TCR). The TCR is a disulfide-linked heterodimeric protein expressed on the surface of T-cells in complex with CD3 and ζ-chain molecules. The receptor functions in the recognition of MHC molecule and the subsequent activation of T-cells. The monoclonal antibody 34 recognises Vα regions of TCRs expressed in the 85.33 arthritogenic T-cell hybridoma and can be used to analyse TCR V gene expression and for immunotherapy in T cell mediated autoimmunity.
