Application
-
-
Specificity
- The antibody recognizes catalase from Bovine Liver. The reagents were evaluated for potency, purity and specificity using most or all of the following techniques: Immunoelectrophoresis, Cross-Immunoelectrophoresis, single Radial Immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony), block titration, ELISA, Immunoblotting and Enzyme Inhibition. Cross-reactivities against enzymes of other sources may occur but have not been determined.
-
Purification
- Ammonium Sulphate Precipitation and Ion Exchange Chromatography
-
Immunogen
- Catalase isolated and purified from Bovine liver. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Background
- Catalase is the classical marker for peroxisomes and is the most abundant protein within peroxisomes. It is found in almost all aerobically respiring organisms and serves to protect cells from the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide.Synonyms: CAT, Peroxisome Marker
