-
Specificity
- Recognizes human LDLR. Does not inhibit binding of LDL. In Western Blot, recognizes the 160kD of LDLR and a 120kD band of the LDLR precursor from fibroblasts, hepatocytes and monocytic cells cultured in the presence of lipoprotein-deficient serum. Sequence not conserved in VLVL Receptor and LRP. Species cross-reactivity: rat. Species sequence Homology: mouse and bovine.

Purification
- Protein A purified
-
Immunogen
-
Synthetic peptide of the complement homology region within the ligand binding site of the LDL receptor extracellular domain. Epitope between aa184-196, the linker region between repeats 4 and 5.
Type of Immunogen: Synthetic peptide -

Application Notes
-
Approved: ELISA, Flo (1:5), IHC, IHC-Fr (1:10), WB (1:50 - 1:100)
Usage: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, FACS and Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 1:50-1:100 using ECL (non-reducing). FACS: 1:5. Immunohistochemistry: 1:10. Note: It is best to work with partially purified material. In the case of rat (probably also mouse), induce LDLR expression prior to the isolation of culture cells or tissue homogenate. It is always better to use cultured cells. In rat, use estradiol to induce LDLR expression. Positive control: HepG2 cells and liver sections. -
