- CTTNBP2 (Cortactin Binding Protein 2 (CTTNBP2))
-
Alternative Name
- CTTNBP2
-
Background
-
Synonyms: C7orf8, Cortactin binding protein 2, CORTBP2, Orf4, CT2NL_HUMAN.
Background: This gene encodes a protein with six ankyrin repeats and several proline-rich regions. A similar gene in rat interacts with a central regulator of the actin cytoskeleton. CTTNBP2 regulates the dendritic spine distribution of CTTN/cortactin in hippocampal neurons, thus controls dendritic spinogenesis and dendritic spine maintenance.
